Send a letter of support to Dr. Tiller's family. Dr. George Tiller was an OB/GYN who provided late-term abortions to women with unhealthy pregnancies, until he was murdered on Sunday morning outside of his church. He was one of the few OB/GYNs in the country who was willing and able to provide this important service to women who would have otherwise died or been seriously injured due to their pregnancies. Dr. Tiller had survived one assassination attempt, a bombing of his clinic, and daily death threats from extremists who would rather see a woman become infertile due to her unhealthy pregnancy, give birth to a dead baby or a baby that will live only a few minutes, or die in childbirth, than to see a man save these women's lives and give them a second chance at motherhood. Dr. Tiller was murdered by one of these extremists in front of his family and in front of his god. My thoughts go out to Dr. Tiller's wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as the many patients of Dr. Tiller, and the women who have to look for a new doctor who is as experienced and compassionate as Dr. Tiller who can provide the legal and life-saving procedures that extremists believe women should have no right to have.

FOX 5 New York finally aired The Simpsons episode The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson which features the Twin Towers. I think it's the first time they've showed it since 2001. After nearly 7 years, FOX finally realized that there's no sense censoring a Simpsons episode out of courtesy to their viewers if Sean Hannity is still going to be on their payroll. So Definitely Funny, Gen-Gen Genocide!

I know there's nothing funny about genocide, but just try not to laugh while watching this video. It is unintentionally hilarious.

That video is from Switch Over to Darfur. During the Olympics, Switch Over to Darfur encourages viewers to switch the channel and not watch the commercials, since advertisers aren't putting pressure on China to help stop the genocide. Instead, they want us to watch Mia Farrow's reporting on the genocide. Even though the video above is pretty ridiculous, I think the campaign is cool -- and easy. I mean, you don't even have to get up. So pledge to Switch Over to Darfur.

I decided to make "Take Action Friday" "Take Action Monday," because Mondays kind of blow, and it helps to do something good on a day so suckish. Plus, I was gone from my computer for several days, so I have a lot of petitions for you all to sign and e-mails to send to your legislators.
