So Definitely Funny, Gen-Gen Genocide!

I know there's nothing funny about genocide, but just try not to laugh while watching this video. It is unintentionally hilarious.

That video is from Switch Over to Darfur. During the Olympics, Switch Over to Darfur encourages viewers to switch the channel and not watch the commercials, since advertisers aren't putting pressure on China to help stop the genocide. Instead, they want us to watch Mia Farrow's reporting on the genocide. Even though the video above is pretty ridiculous, I think the campaign is cool -- and easy. I mean, you don't even have to get up. So pledge to Switch Over to Darfur.

I don't think the video is ridiculous at all, I think it's quite poignant in driving its points home using a platform that you can actually get people to pay any attention to.

Good luck at getting people to sit down and listen to Smantha Powers or someone spend just 5 minutes to explain it to them accidemically.

I agree with you about the switch over campaign though, and have constantly been encouraging my readers to participate.

Great interview with Joey Cheek. He really does know what the Olympic spirit is all about.

As for the video, I get what you're saying. Using humor is a great way to get people to pay attention to serious atrocities that are taking place around the world. I just think the video is too silly and might not be taken seriously.
